Possible Hanging Victim Found Dead In Branch Brook Park

Authorities are investigating a possible hanging death in the Essex County park, which is located in Newark and Belleville.

Authorities are conducting a suspicious death investigation after a body was discovered in Branch Brook Park on Wednesday.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the body was found near Bloomfield Avenue and Lake Street.

The man may have been the victim of an “apparent hanging death,” according to NJ.com.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

Wednesday’s fatality was the second body found in Branch Brook Park in the past three months. In June, a fatal car crash in the Belleville section of the park left a 44-year-old man dead.
