Prevent Fraud In Belleville: Workshop Will Give Residents Helpful Tips

The best way to deal with scams is often knowledge.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — The best way to deal with scams is often knowledge. This is the philosophy behind an upcoming Fraud Prevention workshop in Belleville that will be open to the public.

The program will take place at the Belleville Senior Center, 125 Franklin Avenue from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4. It will be presented by the Belleville Police Department and state officials in the 34th Legislative District.

“This program is available in English and Spanish and is aimed at teaching residents how to be proactive against consumer scam artists. These presentations touch on IRS phone scams, lottery scams, grandparent scams, identity theft, phone call and email scams, and door to door scams all which tend to target the more vulnerable senior population.”
