Reminder: Tomorrow is Election Day

Some Will Vote at Different Polling Station This Year

Tomorrow is the Belleville Board of Education election. Residents vote on the school budget as well as on candidates for two seats on the board.

The $59 million budget calls for no increase in the overall tax levy. Officials have also said that there will be no reductions to academic programs, although up to 11 positions may be eliminated.

Incumbents Joseph Longo and William Freda, the current board president, are seeking re-election for another 3-year term each. Challenging them are Ralph Vellon and Eric Schwartz. Schwartz served previously on the board of education.

Polls open at 2 p.m. and remain open until 9 p.m. Please note that one polling place has changed for this election: Wesley United Methodist Church, 225 Washington Ave.,  is not a polling place this election. Most voters who have voted there in the past may now vote at Belleville Town Hall, 152 Washington Ave.

Patch will have election results as they become available tomorrow evening, after polls close.
