Repeat Grocery Store Wallet Thief Still At-Large, Wanted In Essex County: Police
The man allegedly stole wallets at supermarkets in several Essex County towns, police say.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole wallets from elderly females in several Essex County supermarkets, authorities say.
According to the Nutley Police Department, a local store manager contacted officers on Oct. 16 and told them that a man stole a wallet from a 74-year-old woman when she briefly left her carriage unattended briefly in the frozen food aisle.
Video surveillance showed that a black male about 5 feet 10 inches with a medium build, balding, short, black hair and a white mustache walked by victim and removed her wallet, which contained several hundred dollars and personal identification, police said. [See above photo]

Nutley police then sent the surveillance images out and received information from police in Verona, Westfield and Bloomfield, which all identified the suspect as Charles E. Denmon, 62, of Elizabeth.
Denmon is wanted for committing similar offences in those jurisdictions, Nutley police stated.

In addition, Denmon was entered into NCIC NJ and wanted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor Office, Bergen County Sheriff Office, Essex County Sheriff Office and police departments in New Milford, Verona, Caldwell and Livingston.
Denmon remains at large, Nutley police stated Friday.
