Safe Pried Open At Belleville Car Wash, $9600 Stolen: Police

A Belleville car wash was recently hit by a thief who pried open a safe and made off with $9,600 in cash, police say.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A Belleville car wash was recently hit by a thief who pried open a safe and made off with $9,600 in cash, police say.

According to the Belleville Police Department, the manager of a car wash on Washington Avenue arrived showed up to work around 8:10 a.m. on Feb. 7. When he arrived at the business, the alarm didn’t beep when he opened the door.

After checking the rest of the building, the manager found that a safe was pried open and a window on the roof removed. About $9,600 in cash was missing, police said.

Belleville police are investigating the incident, authorities said.
