The multi-purpose hall of School Number 5 was once again alive with music and dancing Friday night. Students came in their Hawaiian shirts, grass skirts and buri hats for the Luau Party. Even some of the parents came in luau attire to show their support for the event.
Leis were handed out and food was served. There were also booths for face painting and temporary tattoos. The venue also had wall-to-wall Hawaiian decoration. The school’s main hallway was filled with laughter and chattering, as everyone was evidently having a good time.
Children and parents danced the Chicken Dance together, and the little ones jumped, swayed and enjoyed dance tunes throughout the party, multi-colored glow sticks in hand. Parents took photos of their kids and were clearly pleased to see the young ones having a grand time.
