“This is our second St. Patrick’s Day Parade post-pandemic, and it’s a great feeling to finally be able to get everyone together and have a fun afternoon celebrating the tradition of St. Patrick,” Nutley Mayor Joseph Scarpelli said.
“On behalf of the commissioners, I’d like to invite all our residents to come out and join us for a wonderful day at a good old-fashioned parade,” Scarpelli added. “A great time is guaranteed for all.”

Here’s what to expect, according to the Nutley Irish American Association’s website:
“The day will start with a beautiful Investiture Mass at St. Mary’s in Nutley at 10 a.m. After the mass, we will move on to the Holy Family parking lot where we will line up for the parade starting at noon. The parade will step off promptly at 1 p.m. We invite all members to come and march with us as an organization. Let us all pray for great weather, and especially no snow! In memory of Mary O’Connell, we invite all of you to place a statue of the Blessed Mother facing out of your front window the week before the parade. Mary O would tell us that if we did that, the Blessed Mother will bless us with good weather! The Post Parade Party will be at the Parks and Rec at 44 Park Avenue in Nutley from 2 to 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the meeting on Thursday night. Admission is $25 in advance, $30 at the door. Kids 12 and under are $10, and kids 5 and under are free! This is a family friendly event. Music will be provided by The Captain & O’Neill Band. If you are unable to attend the meeting, and wish to purchase tickets, contact Brenda at bcsherman1521@gmail.com. On parade day, there will be a shuttle bus available to take members from Town Hall to St. Mary’s Church before Mass. This way, you can leave your vehicle at the end of the parade route, so after you are done marching, you can pick up your car to go to the Parks and Rec for the post-parade party.”
