Stranger Slugs Man In Face As He Waits In Clara Maas Emergency Room: Belleville Police

The victim told Belleville police that he and his alleged assailant got into a verbal argument before the attack.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A man waiting for treatment at Clara Maas Hospital in Belleville reported that a stranger slugged him in the face several times while he waited in the emergency room earlier this month, authorities say.

The victim told Belleville police officers that he was waiting for treatment in the emergency room around midnight on Aug. 7 when he got into a verbal argument with an unknown man. At that time, the stranger allegedly struck the man in the face several times with a closed fist and left the area accompanied by a child and a female, authorities said.

Medical personnel treated the victim on scene for minor injuries, police said.
