NUTLEY, NJ — A “suspicious incident” involving a child and a two people in a car was reported in Nutley last week, authorities said.

The Nutley Police Department released the following details about the incident, which took place on Passaic Avenue on Feb. 10:

“A resident responded to headquarters with their grandchild to report a suspicious incident. They stated that while their grandchild was walking home, an unknown white heavyset male with a beard driving a dark grey or black vehicle pulled up next to them, offering money to get in the vehicle. They stated the male suspect was accompanied by a black female wearing sunglasses sitting in the passenger seat.”

The detective bureau was advised and the surrounding area was canvassed for further information, police said.
