WHY GO:   Special workshops open to teens ages 13 to 18.  Explore the art and science behind mold-making with artist Carolyn Salas, who creates witty sculptures that challenges us to rethink mass production.  Work one-on-one with professional artists, experiment with new techniques, discover new connections between art and science, and get a behind-the-scenes experience at the Museum. All materials are provided by the Museum. This season, explore 3D design in three ways

WHY GO:  The Newark Museum's new interactive family experience will explore issues of nutrition and exercise, and provide an interactive "tool kit" for disease prevention and healthy behavior.  The exhibit's interactive components, animation and exercise challenges will help visitors appreciate that small incremental changes in good nutrition and activity can lead to a healthier lifestyle.  Here are just a few of the exhibit highlights:
Calorie Crank—Learn how much energy is required to burn calories consumed through food.
Food Engineering Interactive—Smells and tastes are engineered to make us eat more junk food!
"Exertainment"—Combine video games with exercise challenges.
FIT Center—Try out simple exercise equipment geared at promoting the three essentials fo good exercise; frequency, intensity, time.

Turn back the pages of time and witness the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World as they have not been seen for thousands of years. 
The Little Star that Could:    Saturdays & Sundays, 1 & 3 pm - Recommended for adults and children ages 5 to 8   35 minutes
A little star is born all by himself.  Lonely for some friends, he embarks on a journey through the galaxy.  Along the way he meets different stars, learns about their lives, colors and temperatures.  At the end of his voyage he is introduced to a star cluster, the Milky Way and the planets in our Solar System.
