“Dr. Seuss said, ‘You have brains in your head, you have feet in your shoes, you can steer yourself, any direction you choose,’” quoted Paula Cummis, principal of School 4, as she reminded the sixth graders that “their choices will determine their future,” during their graduation Tuesday morning.
Forty-three students marched to Pomp and Circumstance as they took their seats facing their proud parents and families in the audience.
Areeg Ahmed led the graduating class in the flag salute, followed by the welcome address of Cummis.

Andrea Fujimoto of 6A, Anthony LaManna of 6B, and Michael Lopez and Kevin Argueta of 6C delivered the class speech, thanking their teachers and principals, school staff, parents and classmates, saying they will never forget the wonderful memories they have of School 4, as they go to move on to middle school.
The principal and teachers handed out the certificates to the class. Then a slideshow entitled Our Memories from 6th Grade was shown, followed by the graduates’ rendering of the class song Firework, led by Casandra Catanio.

For the recessional, Michelle Ubom-Williams led the graduates in singing Number 4 is Our School (With Pride We Will Sing), as they exited the auditorium, followed by their proud parents and teachers.
