Vehicle Hits, Injures Belleville Cop Directing Traffic: Police
A Belleville police officer was hospitalized after being struck by a car near Union Avenue and Little Street, authorities said.
BELLEVILLE, NJ -- A Belleville police officer was transported to the hospital after being hit by a car near Union Avenue and Little Street on Wednesday, authorities said.
The Belleville Police Department issued the following statement about the incident:
"On July 24 at 3:51 p.m. a Belleville police officer was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic near Union Ave/Little Street. The officer is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene."
No additional information was immediately available.
