Victim Pummeled In Belleville, Attacker Had Brass Knuckles: Cops

A group of four men – at least one of whom was armed with brass knuckles – allegedly attacked a victim in Belleville, police said.

BELLEVILLE, NJ — A group of four men – at least one of whom was armed with brass knuckles – allegedly attacked a victim in Belleville earlier this month. The victim was left with injuries to his face, forehead and shoulder, police said.

According to the Belleville Police Department, officers responded to the area of Franklin and Fredrick streets around 5:04 p.m. on Feb. 12 after receiving a report about a man with possible head injuries. On arrival, the officers found a male victim bleeding from his head, “stumbling around” and with confused, slurred speech.

The victim told officers that four men assaulted him. At least one had brass knuckles, he said.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Clara Maass Medical Center for medical treatment. Belleville police are investigating the incident, authorities said.
