Victim Revived After Drug Overdose On Bus In Nutley: Police

Emergency responders found the victim sitting in a motorized wheelchair. They had a pulse but were "unresponsive," authorities said.

NUTLEY, NJ — Nutley emergency responders revived a person who suffered an apparent drug overdose aboard a bus last week, authorities said.

According to the Nutley Police Department, officers responded to Washington Avenue on Sept. 10 after getting a report about an unconscious person aboard a bus.

Police found the victim sitting in a motorized wheelchair. They had a pulse but were “unresponsive,” authorities said.

Police administered a dose of Nalaxone, while members of the Nutley Fire Department and the Nutley Volunteer Emergency and Rescue Squad performed rescue breathing.

Emergency responders were eventually able to revive the victim, who was transported to Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville for further evaluation, police said.
