“Brown water occurs when the flow of water in the mains is altered. That can occur from unauthorized use of fire hydrants, firefighting, or a water main break. Please note that even though it is discolored, the water is still safe. The break should be repaired shortly and water pressure will be restored. Please run water for 10 to 15 minutes or until water clears to address any discolored water.”

“Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to complete repairs and restore road conditions as quickly and safely as possible,” the town’s advisory stated.
