POLL: Who is to Blame for Tyler Clementi's Death?
While his roommate stands trial for invasion of privacy, the world watches to see if the video spying was a contributing factor in the Rutgers University student's death.
The first week in the trial against Tyler Clementi's roommate has just concluded. Clementi was a Rutgers University student who took his own life in September 2010 by jumping off the George Washington Bridge shortly after finding out his gay lifestyle had been captured secretly on videotape and shared with other students.
Clementi's roommate, Dharun Ravi, is charged with invading Clementi's privacy because he set up a video camera in their dorm room that caught Clementi having gay sex and shared the information with other students.
The case has sparked a debate over cyber-bullying, harassment, and whether Ravi set out to intimidate his roommate because he was gay.
