Woman Hails Uber In Nutley, Driver Speeds Off With Phone: Police
She threw her phone on the back seat and started to close her umbrella. Then the driver sped off – with her phone in the car, police said.
NUTLEY, NJ — A woman reported that a driver sped away with her phone after she ordered an Uber last week in Nutley, police said.
According to the Nutley Police Department, the incident took place on July 21 on River Road. Authorities released the following statement on Monday:
“A female victim flagged down officers to report a theft. The victim stated that they ordered an Uber and upon arrival, they threw their phone on the back seat and then proceeded to close their umbrella to enter the car, when the driver sped off with the phone. The vehicle was described as a newer model red Hyundai with an unknown New Jersey license plate.”
