2,100 Heroin Doses, Cocaine Seized In Toms River Bust

Two Berkeley Township men were arrested, including one with a $50,000 warrant for unpaid child support, authorities said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ -- Two Berkeley Township men are facing drug charges after a Route 37 motor vehicle stop turned up more than 2,100 doses of heroin and 36 grams of cocaine, Toms River police said Wednesday.

Luis Quintana, 37, of Holiday City at Berkeley, and Kevin Reilly, 40, of Berkeley, were arrested Jan. 20 in the stop, which was the result of a monthlong investigation into heroin distribution in Toms River by the Toms River Police Department’s Special Enforcement Team, said Ralph Stocco, spokesman for the department.

Stocco said Quintana was the driver of the rental car, which pulled over on Route 37 near Brookside Drive that day. Police found more than 43 bricks of heroin -- 2,155 wax folds -- along with the cocaine, a digital scale and $1,665 in cash.

According to Ocean County Corrections records, Reilly -- who remains in the county jail as of Wednesday morning -- was sought on a $50,217 warrant for willful nonsupport.
