9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Set In Berkeley

There were 21 Ocean County residents among the nearly 3,000 people who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

BERKELEY, NJ — Join Berkeley Township officials Wednesday evening for a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Veterans Park.

Mayor John Bacchione and the Township Council along with the Berkeley Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and first responders will host the ceremony at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at Veterans Park in Bayville.

"Let us unite in solidarity and pay tribute to the heroes and victims of the September 11th attacks," township officials said. "Together, we will stand strong and show that their sacrifice will never be forgotten. All are welcome to attend."

There were 21 Ocean County residents among the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, and on United Flight 93 that was crashed in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
