9th District Releases Statement on Gov. Murphy's Budget
The 9th Legislative District emphasized that the State Budget must focus on property tax relief and not increased government spending.
BERKELEY, NJ — In response to Gov. Murphy’s unveiling of his proposed 2023 budget, Senator Christopher Connors, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf and Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove announced that they will focus their efforts on increasing funding for property tax relief.
“While Governor Murphy made property tax relief and affordability themes of his budget address, his unimpressive record over the past four years on this issue is reason for concern for the upcoming budget. Too much is at stake for taxpayers who cannot afford obscene levels of state spending that can’t be sustained in the best of economies,” The 9th District Delegation said in a statement.
Gov. Murphy’s $48.9 billion budget focuses on property taxes and relief. "This budget is rooted in a renewed commitment to moving our state forward, creating opportunity for every family, and making our state more affordable," Murphy told the state legislature.
