After School Activities Canceled In Berkeley Due To Storm
Coastal residents can park their cars in the Central Regional Middle School parking lot overnight, police said.
BERKELEY, NJ — The impending storm means that after school activities at both Berkeley Township and Central Regional schools have been canceled Tuesday.
A coastal flood warning goes into effect at 5 p.m. and a high wind advisory goes into effect at 6 p.m. in Ocean County. The storm is expected to bring sustained winds of 35 to 45 mph, with gusts to 65 mph. Read more: Storm Brings High Wind, Coastal Flood Warnings For Ocean County
The Berkeley Township Elementary School District canceled all after school activities, while Central Regional is still holding sports practices at the high school. Those practices will end at 4 p.m. and students can take a late bus home or be picked up.

Ahead of the storm, coastal residents can move their cars to the Central Regional Middle School parking lot to stay overnight and mitigate flooding risk, Berkeley police said in a Nixle alert.
Police urge that residents take time to tie down or store loose objects outside of their homes. Further updates and information will be shared on their Facebook page.
