State Aid: See How Much Berkeley, Central Regional Schools Will Get

BERKELEY, NJ — Gov. Mikie Sherrill's proposed budget for 2026-27 includes $12.4 billion for aid to the state's 574 public school districts. Here's how much of that will go towards Berkeley Township and Central Regional districts.

On Thursday the state Department of Education released the aid figures for each district. Similar to 2025-26, most aid increases were capped at 6 percent, and the majority of aid cuts were capped at 3 percent.

Berkeley is seeing its aid increased by the full 6 percent. The district will get $4,279,477 in state aid for the 2026-27 school year. That's $242,234 more than the previous school year.

Central Regional is also seeing an increase, though proportionally lower than Berkeley's. Their total is $6,879,703, which is a 4.71 percent, or $309,589 increase from the prior year.
