BERKELEY, NJ — A 20-townhouse development was approved on Sloop Creek Road.
Called Stonehill at Berkeley, LLC, the development will be in four buildings, according to public notice. Initially, 24 townhouses were proposed.
The plan changed throughout the course of the meeting, according to a report by Jersey Shore Online. The amount of townhouses was changed and the developers were asked to widen Sloop Creek Road and also add a through street to the development, according to the report.
The about 4.22 acre property was previously approved for an 11-lot single family subdivision. Multifamily housing is not an approved zoning use in that area, so the proposal had to go before the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
A final site plan will need to be approved at a later meeting.
