BERKELEY, NJ — Double Trouble State Park is inviting residents to three Sunday Fundays programs in May, with all-ages activities set to begin at 10 a.m. on May 17, May 24 and May 31. The programs will be led by Naturalist Lisa.
According to the program announcement, no registration is required. Visitors are asked to dress for the weather and consider bug spray, and a second notice says attendees should also consider wearing sunblock. The announcement states that rain or thunder cancels the programs.
The May 17 program is listed as “Lost in the Woods & What to Do.” A week later, on May 24, the park will hold a “Memorial Day Patriotic Hike & Ribbon Hunt.” The May 31 program is “Paws and Poetry.”
The event notice describes the series this way: “Join Naturalist Lisa for Sunday Fundays at Double Trouble! Where stories sprout and creativity blooms!”
People planning to attend are asked to arrive at least five minutes before the program start time. The meeting spot is the white park information and restroom building closest to the parking area, according to the announcement.
The notice repeats that no registration is required, making the programs open to walk-up attendees as long as weather conditions allow the events to proceed. Because rain or thunder cancels, visitors may want to check conditions before heading to the park.
For more information, the announcement says people can call Naturalist Lisa at the Brendan T. Byrne State Forest office at 609-726-1191.
