BERKELEY, NJ — The annual Blessing of the Fleet in Berkeley Shores is set for May 30 at 10:30 a.m.
It's a "day to commemorate," Mayor John Bacchione said at a recent Township Council meeting.
"Not only bless the fleet, but also commemorate the US soldiers who lost their lives defending our country, our great nation," he said.
Boats gather at 10:30 a.m. before the parade kicks off at 10:45 a.m., according to the Berkeley Shores Civic Association. The blessing is located at Amherst Beach.
Local clergy will bless the boats.
