The fair has been a regional tradition since 1947. It began as a small community gathering with 500 attendees and grew to draw more than 60,000 visitors by 1967.

The fairgrounds will include entertainment on the main stage throughout the week. The schedule description says the lineup includes live country bands, Cowboy Larry, Doc Swan, line dancing and other family-friendly entertainment. Organizers also describe a mix of musical acts, animal events and additional attractions during the run of the fair.

Agriculture remains a central part of the event. The Ocean County Fair gives 4-H members a chance to show the work they have put into their yearly projects. The fair also features 4-H animals and displays, along with livestock exhibits that reflect the county’s farming history.

Rides, food and vendors are also part of the schedule. The event description highlights attractions such as the Tilt-a-Whirl, barbecue and shopping opportunities. Organizers say the goal is to offer something for everyone, from longtime fairgoers to families making a first visit.
