OCEAN COUNTY, NJ — From a celebration of Irish culture and a grape-stomping tradition to a classic car show and family-friendly festivals, Ocean County has plenty happening this weekend.
Here are five events to check out on Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13.
Saturday, Sept. 12, registration 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; show 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Veterans Park, 5025 Bill Zimmerman Jr. Way, Bayville, will host the Rescue, Wrench, and Ride car, truck and motorcycle show in memory of Tyler Webb.
The event will feature food trucks, vendors, live music, an RC vehicle show, pet adoption and more. Custom awards and trophies will be presented at 2 p.m.
The family- and pet-friendly event is open to all vehicles. Registration is $20 per vehicle, with all proceeds benefiting the Tyler Webb Memorial Foundation.
The event is hosted by Jersey Shore Car Shows. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13.
Saturday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Ocean County Irish Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary at a new, expanded location: Miller Air Park, home of the Ocean County Fair.
The festival promises a day of Irish culture, music, food and community, with Irish music and dance, local bands, an expanded Irish Food Court, a Celtic Kids Zone and more craft and specialty vendors.
Returning attractions include the Super 50/50 and the "Truckload of Cheer" raffle.
Organizers said the move from the festival's previous Stafford Township location provides more space and expanded infrastructure for attendees, vendors and attractions.
Saturday, Sept. 12, and Sunday, Sept. 13, beginning at 12 p.m.
Celebrate the grape harvest with the Grape Stomping Festival at Laurita Winery.
The weekend celebration will feature live music, free wagon tours, food trucks and, of course, grape stomping.
Admission is $15 online or $20 at the door. More information is available at Laurita Winery.
Sunday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Head to Ocean Beach Bathing Area 1 for the annual Beach Plum Festival, featuring beach plum jelly, ice cream, food, music, crafters, children's games and environmental and nonprofit exhibits.
The family-friendly event is rain or shine, with a $10 suggested donation. More information is available at Friends of Island Beach State Park.
Sunday, Sept. 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
History comes to life at the General John Lacey Historical Festival at VFW Post 10118, 2652 W. Lacey Road in Forked River.
The festival will include pony rides, live music, food, more than 30 vendors, a 50/50, an 18th-century encampment, glass-blowing demonstrations, children's games and crafts, history lectures and films, and a children's musket drill.
Tickets are $35 per person, or $25 with online pre-order. Children 10 and younger are admitted free.
