BERKELEY, NJ — A restaurant that has served as an eyesore along Route 9 is expected to get new life.
Agave, a new restaurant, is replacing what once was CB Huntington's and then BBQ Bill's.
Councilman James Byrnes shared the update in a social media post.
The restaurant owner went before the Township Council one year ago to seek approval to re-open the building as a restaurant.
Now, it will be a restaurant serving a combination of Mexican, Italian and steakhouse food, according to Byrnes.
"It's always good to see new businesses investing in our community and bringing new life to familiar locations," Byrnes said.
Agave plans to open in February, Byrnes said.
"I'm looking forward to seeing their plans come together and welcoming them to Berkeley Township!" Byrnes said.
