BERKELEY, NJ — Drivers in Holiday City will see a series of road closures beginning in late September as work starts on the Holiday City Culvert Improvement Project.
According to township officials, the work will disrupt traffic patterns to and from Route 37 and is expected to last until on or about Dec. 1.
The first closure is scheduled for Jamaica Boulevard between Charlotteville Drive and Plaza Drive starting on or about Sept. 25. The notice states that stretch of Jamaica Boulevard will remain closed 24 hours a day until all barricades are removed. Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs.
Additional closures are planned in phases over the following weeks. Bimini Drive between Barbados Drive North and Jamaica Boulevard is scheduled to close starting on or about Oct. 5. Bananier Drive between Charlotteville Drive and Jamaica Boulevard is scheduled to close starting on or about Nov. 5.
A fourth closure is planned for Charlotteville Drive between Barbados Drive South and Grenada Street starting on or about Nov. 16. Like the other road segments, that section is expected to remain closed 24 hours a day until barricades are removed, according to the notice.
The project notice says residents who live within the road closure zones will continue to have access to their homes. It also states there will be no disruption to deliveries, mail service, sanitation or recycling service for those residents during the work.
