Back To Normal - Hermine Has Left Ocean County Beaches

Waves will only be three feet high, light swells forecast.

The National Weather Service is calling for partly sunny skies today with temperatures in the mid 80s.

Beach winds will be from the east at five miles per hour, switching over to the south in the afternoon.

Waves will be around three feet today, very different from the turbulent seas of the past week. Swells will be from the east around two feet in the morning, becoming light later in the day. The ocean water temperature is 72 degrees.

The rip current risk for today is low. But strong currents can still occur near piers, jetties and other areas, especially during low tide. Swim only in guarded areas and discuss any possible surf hazards with the lifeguards.

Many beaches in the Ocean County area are not guarded, now that Labor Day has passed. Check with the town you plan to visit, before heading out.

There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet arrived at 7 a.m. High tide will roll in at 1:16 pm., followed by another low tide at 7:46 p.m.
