Bayville Dinosaur Dedication Set For Saturday
A celebration is planned to formally mark the completion of the refurbishment of the landmark statue on Route 9.
BERKELEY, NJ — If you haven't been down Route 9 in the last few weeks, you may not have noticed that the Bayville Dinosaur has a head again — and a whole new look.
The dedication is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the renovated Heritage Plaza, and organizers say there will be entertainment and food.
Empire Masonry donated the cement and masonry work to reconstruct the tail, the neck and the new head for the dinosaur, which does have a name: Bud. And if you pass him at night, you're not going crazy: His eyes light up at night.

The makeover has been several years in the making and is a far different look, forgoing bright painted handprints or the bright white finish for earthy tones.
