Bayville Man Flown To Jersey Shore University Medical Center After Car Hits Tree, Police Chief Says

A Bayville man was seriously injured when the car he was riding in left Pinewald-Keswick Road and struck a tree late Monday afternoon, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

The accident happened at 3:43 p.m. Nancy Escher, 74, and Richard Escher, 72, were driving eastbound when their car left the roadway and hit the tree. Firefighters from the Pinewald Pioneer Fire Company extricated Escher. He was then flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, the chief said

Nancy Escher, the driver, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment.

The accident is under investigation by Patrolman Butler of the Berkeley Township Police Department, the chief said.
