Bayville Woman, Manchester Teen Injured In Route 539 Collision: Police

Breaking: The force of the collision caused the 17-year-old Manchester boy's car to roll over, police said.

MANCHESTER, NJ — Two people were injured Tuesday when two cars collided on Route 539 in Manchester, police said Wednesday.

Beverly Kiefer, 47, of Bayville, and a 17-year-old male from Manchester both were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River for treatment after the crash, which happened about 4:45 p.m., Manchester Police Capt. Todd Malland said.

Malland said the crash happened on Route 539 near the entrance to Cousins Paintball Park. The teen was driving a 2007 Ford Focus north on Route 539 and was attempting to turn left into the paintball park when it was hit by a 2014 Cadillac ATS driven by Kiefer, he said.

The force of the impact caused the Focus to roll over and it came to a stop on its roof, he said. The Cadillac ended up with significant front-end damage, Malland said.

The teen suffered injuries to his legs, while Kiefer was taken for treatment of pain in her lower extremities, Malland said. Both were wearing their seatbelts, he said.
