Berkeley Changes Garbage-Pickup Rules Amid Coronavirus

Soon all household trash must be bagged, according to the Department of Public Works.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Township made key changes to trash pickup because of the novel coronavirus. Soon all household trash must be bagged, even if you have an outdoor trash receptacle.

Changes will take effect Monday. Sanitation employees won't pick up trash that isn't bagged.

Additionally, bulk will only be picked up on your scheduled day. Residents can continue using the recycling center but can only leave recyclables there — no trash.
