Berkeley Library To Host Jessica Carroll Americana Program

The free July 8 program at the Berkeley Branch will feature patriotic hymns, folk songs and stories behind them.

BERKELEY, NJ — The Berkeley Branch of the Ocean County Library will host “Jessica Carroll Sings Americana” at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, offering a free all-ages program centered on early Americana music.

According to the event announcement, Jessica Carroll will perform patriotic hymns and Americana folk songs during the program. The announcement says she also will share stories about the songs’ origins as part of what the library describes as an entertaining and educational presentation.

The event is scheduled at the Berkeley Branch, 30 Station Road, in Berkeley Township. Registration is required, and space is limited, according to the announcement.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkeley Library. According to the announcement, the Friends of the Library provide local support for Ocean County Library’s branches.

Funds raised by the group are used to expand programming at branches and support ongoing projects, according to the announcement. That support helps underwrite programs like the upcoming music event in Berkeley Township.
