Berkeley Man Crashes Car Into Toms River Building

The man received a summons for careless driving, police said.

TOMS RIVER, NJ — A Berkeley man crashed his car into a Toms River building Thursday afternoon, police said. The accident took place at about 1 p.m. Thursday at the Community Surgical Supply lot on 163 Route 72 West.

Robert Dimino, 71, told police he was pulling into a parking space when his foot slipped off the brake pedal. His car accelerated over the curb and into the building.

No one was injured. The Toms River Fire and Building Departments deemed the building unsafe to use because of the structural damage.

Dimino received a summons for careless driving, police said. Toms River Officer Brian Doyle is investigating the crash.
