Berkeley Man Struck, Killed In Howell Friday Night
The man was hit by a car and killed on Route 9 in Howell.
BERKELEY, NJ — A Berkeley man was killed after being hit by a car in Howell late Friday night, police said.
The 56-year-old man, who was not identified by police, was walking north on Route 9 between New Friendship Road and Salem Hill Road when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that was driven by a 45-year-old Jackson resident, Howell police said.
The man sustained a traumatic injury and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation by the Howell Township Police Department, the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office and the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART).
