Berkeley Named Among Best NJ Towns To Retire
Berkeley "seems tailor-made for retirees," according to the WorldAtlas report.
BERKELEY, NJ — Berkeley Township has been named one of the best places to retire in New Jersey, according to a new report from WorldAtlas.
It's among four Ocean County towns named on the "10 Best Towns In New Jersey To Retire Comfortably" list. The other three are Manchester, Little Egg Harbor and Barnegat.
"Berkeley Township is another town that seems tailor-made for retirees," WorldAtlas wrote, citing 55+ communities like Holiday City and Sonata Bay.

According to U.S. Census data, 43 percent of Berkeley's population are 65 and older.
Another reason given is that Berkeley's homes for sale are often priced under the statewide average.

"Although it may not offer the attractions of other coastal communities, it provides a quieter, affordable option that is still just a short drive from popular destinations and services like healthcare," WorldAtlas wrote.
