Berkeley Police Log: DWIs, Burglary, Cocaine

The Berkeley Township Police Department released their most recent activity report.

BERKELEY, N.J. — Berkeley police released their activity report for Feb. 26 to March 11. All incidents are merely accusations, and those accused are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. Here is their unedited log:

Feb 26th- Mar 11th , 2019
Arrest (DWI) – On February 27th, 2019 Patrolman Ryan Drivanos conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 2003 Jaguar X-T, gold in color, bearing a NJ registration. The stop occurred on Rt 9 near the intersection of Ocean Gate Drive. During a roadside interview, Patrolman Drivanos reported that the vehicle was occupied by a male driver who displayed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were later requested and performed, which resulted in the arrest of James Fullam, age 35 of Ocean Gate Borough, for Driving While Intoxicated. James was processed at Police H.Q. and later released to the care of a family member. In addition to the DWI arrest, James was issued traffic summonses for Refusal to Submit to Chemical Testing and Reckless Driving. His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.
Arrest (Warrant) – On February 27th, 2019 Patrolman Edward LaGreca arrested Anthony Gray, age 40 of Howell Township, on the strength of an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of this jurisdiction, amounting to $750.00 dollars. Anthony was processed at Police H.Q. and released on his own recognizance upon posting bail.
Arrest (Warrant) – On February 27th, 2019 Patrolman Brian Flanegan and Patrolman Joshua Foca arrested Brittany L. Rodriquez, age 29 of Coolidge Avenue, on the strength of an active Warrant out of Little Egg Harbor Township, for Violating the Terms of a Court Order. Brittany was processed at Police H.Q. and turned over to the originating authority.
Arrest (Shoplifting) – On February 28th, 2019 Patrolman Ryan Wahl and Patrolman Brian Bargas arrested Chelsea Griffiths, age 22 of Michael Avenue, for shoplifting approximately $19.00 dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Bayville Quick Check. A search incident to arrest also revealed that Chelsea was in possession of a homemade pipe containing burnt marijuana residue to which she was charged accordingly. Chelsea was processed at Police H.Q. and released on her own recognizance with a pending court date.
Arrest (Warrant) – On February 28th, 2019 Patrolman Robert Murawski arrested James M. Hahl Jr, age 26 of Saint Thomas Drive, on the strength of an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of this Jurisdiction, amounting to $350.00 dollars. James was processed at Police H.Q. and released on his own recognizance upon posting bail.
Arrest (Warrant) - On February 28th, 2019 Patrolman Joshua Foca arrested Quashon Askew, age 32 of Lakewood Township, on the strength of an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of this Jurisdiction, amounting to $475.00 dollars. Quashon was processed at Police H.Q. and released on his own recognizance with a court date set.
Arrest (Warrant) - On March 1st, 2019 Patrolman Joshua Foca arrested Kayxion J. Anderson, age 20 of Edison Township, on the strength of an active No Bail Warrant out of this Jurisdiction for Obstruction. Kayxion was processed at Police H.Q. and remanded to the Ocean County Jail.
Arrest (Warrant) – On March 2nd, 2019 Patrolman Tyler Shan and Patrolman Christopher Elliot arrested Asante L. Oates, age 28 of Neptune Township, of the strength of Multiple Failure to Appear Warrants out of Jackson Township, Toms River Township, Tinton Falls Borough, and Neptune Township amounting to $3700.00 dollars. Asante was processed at Police H.Q. and released on his own recognizance upon posting bail.
Arrest (DWI) – On March 3rd, 2019 Patrolman Steven Kappock and Sergeant Scott Stoker responded to the 900 block of Rt 9 to investigate a reported motor vehicle crash in the roadway. Upon arrival, the Officers confirmed the crash as a rear end collision and verified that all parties involved were uninjured. During a roadside interview, Patrolman Kappock reported that the driver of the vehicle at fault displayed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were later requested and performed, which resulted in the arrest of James J. Grady Jr, age 67 of N. Bay Drive, for Driving While Intoxicated. James was processed at Police H.Q. and later released to the care of a family member. In addition to the DWI arrest, James was issued a traffic summons for Careless Driving and his vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.
Burglary Attempt – On March 3rd. 2019 the Berkeley Township Police responded to the 100 block of Harley Boulevard to investigate an attempted Burglary. Upon arrival, Officers advised Police Dispatch that the front door of a residence had been forced open damaging both the door and the door frame. After the residence was cleared, the home owner conducted an inventory of his property and reported that nothing was disturbed or missing. It is believed that as the actor(s) attempted to gain entry into the home, the family pet became aggressive and scared them off. A canvass of the area was conducted for suspects, witnesses, and further evidence which yielded negative results. Burglary – On March 5th, 2019 the Berkeley Township Police responded to the 400 block of SE Woodhaven Boulevard to investigate a reported burglary. During this incident unknown actors made entry into an unoccupied residence and stole a high efficiency boiler and 50 feet of ½ inch copper piping, valued at $6,000.00 dollars. Officers on scene conducted a canvass of the area for witnesses, suspects, and further evidence which yielded negative results. This incident remains under investigation and we are asking anyone with information to contact the Berkeley Township Police at 732-341-1132 x611. TIPS can be anonymous.
Motor Vehicle Burglary – On March 6th, 2019 the Berkeley Township Police responded to a residence on the 100 block of Fort De France Avenue to investigate a reported Motor Vehicle Burglary. During this incident, unknown actor(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of loose change. Officers on scene conducted a canvass of the area for witnesses, suspect, and further evidence which yielded negative results. We would like to remind Township residents to double check their vehicles and make sure they are locked prior to going to bed at night. This simple action may help prevent you from becoming a victim!
Arrest (Warrant) – On March 6th, 2019 Patrolman Derek Mayer and Patrolman Michael Sasso arrested George A. Parker, age 36 of Toms River Township, on the strength of an active No Bail Warrant out of Lacey Township, for Intimidation. George was processed at Police H.Q. and turned over to the originating authority.
Arrest (DWI) – On March 8th, 2019 Patrolman Thomas Eichen and Patrolman Ryan Wahl responded to the 100 block of Morris Boulevard to investigate a reported hit and run involving an unoccupied parked motor vehicle. Upon arrival, the Officers conducted a check of the area and located the actor vehicle, a 2008 Honda Minivan, bearing a NJ Registration, nearby. The Driver was also located and identified as Vincent W. Toldt, age 59 of Gun Barrel, Texas. While conducting a roadside interview, Officers noted that Vincent displayed signs of impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were later requested and performed, which resulted in the arrest of Vincent for Driving While Intoxicated. Vincent was processed at Police H.Q. and later released to the care of a family member. In addition to the DWI arrest, Vincent was issued traffic summonses for Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Report an Accident, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Exhibit Driver’s License, and Disregard of Marked Lanes. His vehicle was impounded as per John’s Law.
Arrest (Warrant) – On March 8th, 2019 Patrolman Robert Murawski arrested Achli N. Young, age 25 of Leeward Court, on the strength of an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of Stafford Township, amounting to $600.00 dollars. Achli was processed at Police H.Q. and turned over to the originating authority.
Arrest (Shoplifting) – On March 9th, 2019 Patrolman Michael Drybola and Patrolman Don Rowley arrested Alexander J. Ciccolello Jr, age 27 of Atlantic City Boulevard, for shoplifting approximately $7.00 dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Bayville Dollar General. Alexander was processed at Police H.Q. and released on his own recognizance with a pending court date.
Arrest (Warrants/Possession of Cocaine) – On March 11th, 2019 Patrolman Jacob Camaraza and Patrolman James Mauncele conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Nissan Sentra bearing a New Jersey Registration. The Officers reported that the vehicle had two occupants, a Driver and a front seat passenger. While speaking with the Driver, identified as Kevin A. King, age 34 of Lakewood Township, it was discovered that his driver’s license was suspended. Upon further inspection, it was also discovered that Kevin had an active Failure to Appear Warrant out of Lakewood Township, amounting to $750.00 dollars. Kevin was processed at Police H.Q. and turned over to the originating authority. The passenger, identified as Janine Stefanelli, age 35 of Edinburgh Drive, also had an active Warrant out of this Jurisdiction for Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. A search incident to arrest revealed suspect cocaine concealed on her person. Janine was processed at Police H.Q. and remanded to the Ocean County Jail.
