A home in a Berkeley retirement community caught fire Monday night, police said. All residents safely exited the home without injury but were taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River as a precaution, according to police.
The fire occurred on Killington Road in the Silver Ridge retirement community, police said. Upon arrival, patrol officers noticed a fully engulfed home, according to authorities.
The Manitou Park Fire Department, Pinewald Pioneer Fire Department, Bayville Fire Department, Toms River Fire Departments 1 and 2, Berkeley Township EMS, South Toms River EMS and Toms River EMS responded to assist, police said.

Preliminary investigation shows no signs of foul play, but the cause of the fire is still undetermined, police said. Anyone with information can contact detective Michael Tier of the Berkeley Township Police Department at 732-341-1132 x2118.
