Berkeley Sets Halloween And Mischief Night Curfews For Ghosts And Goblins

Tonight is Mischief Night in Berkeley Township and that means pranksters must be off the streets by 10 p.m., according to township ordinances.

The same goes for treat-or-treat night on Friday. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for making sure their children comply with Halloween curfews, according to the township website.

“It is unlawful for any parent or guardian to permit...any juvenile in his or her care to be in any public place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.,” according to the ordinance.

Police officers are authorized to detain any minor who willfully violates the ordinance, until a parent or guardian retrieves the minor.
