Berkeley Spots Collecting Donations For Helene-Ravaged Areas

The Berkeley Township School District and local businesses are taking supplies to those in need in the south. Here's where to donate:

BERKELEY, NJ — With more than 200 dead and billions of dollars worth of damage done to the south after Hurricane Helene's devastation, many people here in New Jersey are wondering: how can we help? Thankfully, local areas are collecting donations to bring to those in great need.

The Berkeley Township School District and Seaside Heights School District announced that they will be collecting supplies. You can send in donations with your child or drop them off at school by Oct. 9. These items are needed:

  • Canned goods
  • Water
  • Clothes
  • Baby needs
  • First aid supplies
  • Pet food
  • Blankets

Also, local realtors Coldwell Banker Flanagan Realty are collecting supplies at their Bayville office, 231 Route 9. You can drop off donations there between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Oct. 11.

Donations can also be brought to Bayville Auto Care, 912 Atlantic City Blvd. Non-perishables and items like batteries, flashlights and other supplies are wanted.
