BERKELEY, N.J. — Berkeley Township created another way to thank veterans. Mayor Carmen F. Amato and Township Council members developed parking spaces for veterans and those wounded in combat.

There are now two parking spaces at Town Hall: one reserved for veterans, another for wounded vets. Councilman James J. Byrnes — a Vietnam veteran — and Amato developed the idea.

"Our Town Hall is extremely busy during the day and parking is always at a premium," Amato said in a statement. "These dedicated spaces are our way of saying 'thank you' for your service to our Country."
