Berkeley Township Christmas Tree Lighting Slated For Friday
Berkeley PBA Local 237 asks that participants bring an new, unwrapped gift for children in need.

The holiday season in Berkeley Township officially kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at Veterans Park in Bayville when the township Christmas Tree is lit, Mayor Carmen F. Amato Jr. said.
Carolers from the township preschool and aftercare programs will be on hand and Santa Claus will arrive by fire truck.
Officers from Berkeley PBA Local 237 will also be on hand serving hot chocolate. They are also asking that anyone who attends bring new unwrapped trees to the event for needy children.

“They also have drop-off location at Town Hall and the police department,” the mayor said. ”The need is greater each year. ”
