Bernard C. Blomquist, Local Electrician, Dies At 44
Services for Bayville resident will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Bernard C. Blomquist, 44, of Bayville, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2016.
Born in Staten Island, he moved with his family to Ocean Gate in 1974. He was a resident of Bayville for 19 years. Bernie was self-employed and ran the family business, Blomquist Electric, founded in 1989. He was a 1989 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Toms River and a graduate of Montclair University, class of 1995, with an Industrial Design degree. Bernie loved the sea and was an avid boater and fisherman participating and winning many deep sea fishing tournaments.
Bernie is predeceased by his father Bernard J. in 2014. Surviving are; his mother Beatrice Blomquist; 3 sisters, Kathleen Blomquist, Susan Beyer and Bernadette Blomquist; his nieces and nephews; Steven Beyer, Alisha Beyer, Jaime Lynne Charles and Tyler Charles. Also surviving are his aunts, uncles, cousins and his two best friend Chris Pulos and George Cannon.
Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, before celebrating a 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, Bayville. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery in Toms River. Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bernie's memory to; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org) or, the Ocean Gate First Aid Squad (oceangateems.org), would be appreciated.
