We lose on average of 22 service members every day to suicide. We also lose countless numbers to death related to drugs and alcohol. There is a stigma when it comes to mental health. Many are looked down upon or even face retaliation depending on the situation. The biggest for female veterans is MST ( military sexual trauma) if they were assaulted many don't come forward due to retaliation. And with male service members they are portrayed as weak if they speak up about their own mental health.
