Car Crashes Through Berkeley Home, Injures Man On Couch: Police
The two-vehicle crash sparked a chain reaction that sent one car through a home, police said.

BERKELEY, NJ — A two-car accident sent a vehicle through a man's home at about 4:12 p.m. Monday, Berkeley police said. The man was on his couch and suffered injuries after he was struck in the back, according to authorities.
No individuals or vehicles were publicly identified. Driver 1 was traveling north on Jamaica Boulevard and crossing Nostrand Drive. Driver 2 was traveling west on Nostrand Drive and "started (Driver 1) at the stop sign," according to the police announcement.
Driver 1 overcompensated and grazed Vehicle 2, tearing off its license plate as they continued to drive through the side of a Jamaica Boulevard home, police said.

Driver 1 went to Community Medical Center, and the resident was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Berkeley police did not immediately release details on their injuries.
The home suffered structural damage. The Manitou Park Volunteer Fire Company secured utilities and the vehicle. All units cleared by 7 p.m.
