Celebrated in 100 cities across America, "Never Give Up Day" encourages Berkeley residents to embrace resilience.

BERKELEY, NJ — To celebrate resilience and unity, Berkeley Township is one of 100 cities from coast to coast celebrating Never Give Up Day on Aug. 18.
What is Never Give Up Day? It is an event that "has become a beacon of hope, inspiring individuals to conquer challenges, embrace perseverance, and demonstrate unwavering strength in the face of adversity," according to a press release.
The movement aims to unite "people from all walks of life, transcending geographical boundaries and cultural differences," Never Give Up Day organizers said.

"With 100 cities standing shoulder to shoulder, this year's commemoration takes on unprecedented significance, symbolizing the collective strength and unwavering resolve of the region's inhabitants," organizers said.
Ways people celebrate the day across the nation include charitable initiatives, volunteer drives and community support efforts.

"This year's Never Give Up Day is a testament to the incredible spirit and tenacity of the American people," said Alain Horowitz, spokesperson for the organizing committee. "We are witnessing an outpouring of hope and support, as individuals from every corner of the nation come forward to celebrate the power of perseverance and encourage one another to overcome life's challenges."
The organizers encourage all to join the movement.
"Together, let us ignite a fire of resilience that burns brightly across North America, inspiring individuals to overcome obstacles and embrace hope for a brighter future," organizers said.
