Central Regional Alum Carolan Earns Big East Soccer Honor
The Golden Eagles' all-time goals and assists leader has 7 goals for Georgetown this year.

WASHINGTON, DC — Amanda Carolan, Central Regional's all-time leading goal scorer, was named Big East Offensive Player of the Week for her feats at Georgetown University, the conference announced.
Carolan, a sophomore forward for the Hoyas, earned the honor after scoring both goals in Georgetown’s 2-0 win over Marquette last Sunday. She scored in the 28th minute and added her second five minutes into the second half.
Carolan has seven goals and two assists for Georgetown, which has no losses and two ties in Big East conference play this year after a 4-0 victory over Seton Hall on Thursday night. The Hoyas, who have scored 43 goals this season, have just one loss, a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Stanford in August.

Carolan, who has started every game for the Hoyas this year and was a Big East Academic All-Star as a freshman, set school records during her four years at Central, with 108 career goals and 44 career assists (a school-record 260 career points). The Golden Eagles finished 19-3 in 2014, Carolan's senior season, as she powered the team with 45 goals. She also played her club soccer for Tom River FC Elite United.
Georgetown is ranked No. 7 in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and No. 2 by Soccer America, and is 13-1-2 overall and 5-0-2 in the Big East.

Carolan was named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 10. Two of her teammates, defender Marina Paul and sophomore goalkeeper Arielle Schechtman were selected to the honor roll this week.
