Central Regional To Host Track And Field State Sectionals On Friday And Saturday

Roughly 1,000 student athletes from more than 60 high schools in New Jersey will converge on Central Regional High School’s track for the South Jersey Group 3 state sectionals meet on Friday and Saturday.

The athletes will compete on the high school’s new track and field facilities, which include an eight-lane track, a 10-lane straightaway, two high jump, pole vault, discuss, shot put and triple jump/long jump areas, Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides said.
“We are estimating over 5,000 people a day,” he said. ”It will increase local eateries’ revenue and make use of a tremendous facility,” he said.

The competition starts at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. It resumes at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The teams include Burlington Township, Camden Co Tech, Sicklerville, Central Regional, Cherry Hill West, Cumberland, Delsea, Hammonton, Highland, Lacey, Mainland, Moorestown, Oakcrest, Ocean City, Pennsauken, Seneca, Timber Creek, Toms River South, Triton Regional, Winslow, according to nj.com.
Also competing are teams from South Jersey, Group 2 and North Jersey, Non-Public B. With the exception of the mile and two mile, races will be run in this order: Group 3, Group 2, Non-Public B.
